City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue x Charity Barrel Limited Edition Barrel Aged Agave
Giving Back one barrel at a time.
Founders of Charity Barrel; Jon, Wendy, Josh, and Alex have built relationships with many distilleries to privately hand-select bourbon barrels to raise charity funds. Having traveled to Kentucky for the last decade, the Charity Barrel team has developed a deep understanding of bourbon, the flavor profiles, and the uniqueness of each distillery.
Our friends at Charity Barrel have hand selected a barrel of 100% Agave placed in a Charity Barrel Edition #5 empty barrel from Nashville Barrel Company for 21 months. For each donation of $130 to CDCK, Charity Barrel will gift donors this limited edition bottle, while supplies last.
This bottle is a cross between a traditional Reposado Tequila and an Anejo Tequila. It's smooth, with a sweet kiss of peach that slides to a gentle oak burn. This 100% Agave from Jalisco was placed in a Charity Barrel Edition #5 empty barrel from Nashville Barrel Company for 21 months. It's fantastic right from the bottle, and is elevated with a few ice cubes and a twist of orange. To really have some fun with it, we would challenge you to use it in a Bloody Mary or a spicy margarita!
Its appearance is creamy and light amber, and the agave smells of a strong floral note that slightly shifts to a dusty oak finish. This agave is smooth on the front palate and shifts to a sweet kiss of strong peach that slides to a gentle oak burn. Its aftertaste ends in a minty menthol flavor.
**Must be 21 or older to receive a bottle from Charity Barrel. Any bottle that needs to be shipped will require the donor to pay shipping costs. That information will be provided by Charity Barrel with donations.
Bottles can be picked up locally in DC or can be shipped for an additional fee. More information about delivery will be provided upon completion of the barrel.

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue rescues adoptable cats and dogs in overcrowded and high-kill shelters, where resources are severely limited. We offer a lifeline to as many of these wonderful animals as possible. Sadly, many of the cats and dogs that City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue takes are just days — and sometimes hours — away from being euthanized for no reason other than lack of space. By finding these animals permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area, we can enrich lives of humans and their pets. We welcome your help in any capacity, through volunteering, fostering, adopting, sponsoring and/or donating.
City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is a "rescue" not a "shelter." We are made up of a network of volunteers (most with full-time jobs) who foster cats and dogs in their homes. Since most of our available animals are living in private homes, we cannot arrange a visit without an adoption application and an appointment with the foster family.
City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue has saved over 10,000 dogs and cats since we started in 2011. Every one of them has left little paw prints on our hearts, and we remember all of them fondly. We have an active alumni community and we're so grateful every time someone chooses to join the City Dogs & City Kitties family.
